Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Liverpool to assist with the appointment of a Receptionist/Administration Assistant on a 2.5-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 12.71 - 16.50 per hour

Summary:

Liverpool City Council is seeking a professional and customer-focused Receptionist/Administration Assistant to support the Registrars team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for visitors and service users providing a high-quality reception and administrative service. This role requires strong interpersonal skills the ability to manage sensitive situations confidently and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide front-line reception services welcoming and assisting visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Handle customer enquiries face-to-face and by telephone assessing issues and resolving them at the first point of contact wherever possible.
  • Manage difficult or sensitive situations with confidence empathy and professionalism.
  • Maintain accurate records files and statistical information in line with council procedures.
  • Deliver a range of administrative tasks including data entry correspondence filing and supporting the wider Registrars team.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience providing reception services within a customer service environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with the public face-to-face.
  • Experience in managing and resolving challenging situations at the first point of contact.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to assess and resolve complex customer issues quickly.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong ICT skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to create and maintain accurate records files and statistical data.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts within service operating hours including occasional weekends.

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
