Salary 32062 - 36363 per annum Permanent Full Time 37 hours per week Corporate Finance Preston

Lancashire County Council is offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated experienced and highly organised Assistant Corporate Accountant to join our dedicated finance team.

Reporting to the Corporate Accountant youll be part of a skilled team providing high-quality financial information and advice to Lancashire County Developments Ltd the councils wholly owned company.

Were looking for a candidate who thrives under pressure and can meet tight deadlines with confidence. Ideally youll be AAT qualified (or equivalent) and possess strong IT skills especially in Microsoft Excel.

You should have:

  • Proven experience in a financial environment
  • Experience of performing financial reconciliations across complex systems
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders

In addition to supporting Lancashire County Developments Ltd you may also contribute to the wider accountancy function offering variety and scope for professional growth.

Key requirements:

The successful candidate will:

  • be AAT qualified (or equivalent) or qualified by experience within a large organisation
  • be innovative and pro-active with a focus on continuous improvement
  • possess strong financial accounting skills including balance sheet and control account reconciliations
  • have experience in the preparation of billing information for clients
  • be confident in budget monitoring and financial reporting
  • demonstrate excellent time management and interpersonal skills
  • be proficient in Microsoft Excel with the ability to navigate and work effectively with accounting systems
