cFocus Software seeks a Lead Systems Administrator (Windows) to join our program supporting the Navy. This position is remote. This position requires active TS/SCI clearance. Qualifications:
A degree in Computer Science Information Systems Engineering Business Administration or other related discipline is preferred.
6 years of professional work and leadership experience in relation to Windows system administration of networks and software systems.
Experience in system backup/recovery basic software management security and library management installation and configuration of hardware operating systems and COTS software operating computer systems in different operating environments sizing performance tuning hardware/software /network trouble shooting and resource allocation.
Experience in maintaining proficiency on major network security tools such as firewalls.
Experience developing system specifications and performing market research procurement tasks.
Experience with different network protocols including TCP/IP.
Experience of computing and networking vulnerabilities and attach and latest detect methods.
Duties:
Provide support (e.g. system administration Life-Cycle repair cybersecurity) for various Operating Systems (OSs) that support Department and existing and future fleet development and sustainment (e.g. Windows RedHat RedHawk HPUX Solaris AIX OpenVMS CentOS Real-time operating systems).
Provide support for various server hardware architectures that support Department and existing and future fleet development and sustainment (e.g. VAX ALPHA SPARC x86 PA-RISC Concurrent).
Provide support for various hardware and software storage solutions including Storage Area Networks (SANs) Network-attached Storage (NAS) storage controllers and fiber fabric switch technologies (e.g. NetApp Vast Dell EMC Synology Quantum).
Support NSWCDDs disaster recovery activities ensuring critical systems can be restored in accordance with requirements.
Provide support for various hardware and software backup solutions including tape jukebox and smart disk systems maintaining system images using native OS software and various vendor software solutions (e.g. Dell EMC Networker Quantum Clonezilla).
Perform system backups and restores for all Department IT and fleet support systems and ensure the ability to perform bare-metal restores in the event of system failure or disaster.
Verify backups and provide backup and image status reports.
Provide support for various IT peripherals including but not limited to tape drives magneto optical drives optical drives (e.g. CD-ROM DVD Blu-Ray) flash media drives printers and print servers and plotters.
Provide hardware support including but not limited to performing hardware upgrades refreshes troubleshooting diagnostics and repair opening vendor support requests and coordinating vendor on-site support planning hardware upgrades and installations relocating hardware and updating asset databases and diagrams following hardware changes.
Work with Government and other Contractor personnel to schedule and perform updates to operating system software applications and hardware evaluate the impact to the system and networks and to assist with developing necessary contingency plan(s) and notify stakeholders prior to installation.
Add remove and manage user accounts on standalone and networked systems with the use of directory services where applicable (e.g. AD Lightweight Directory Access Protocol).
Support NMCI activities for NSWCDD including security groups user accounts share drive space switch and port installations seat moves/adds/changes seat coordination day to day troubleshooting and other similar tasks.
Work with Government and other Contractor network engineers to troubleshoot diagnose and solve network related issues.
Provide system administration technical assistance for test or training events.
Maintain records of system administration activities on all supported IT via a ticket tracking system.
Develop a process that will employ to perform critical activities to ensure IT is operating effectively while adhering to cybersecurity requirements (e.g. patching antivirus updates performing and verifying system backups performing/remediating vulnerability scans updating A&A documentation).
Provide activity status reports detailing the statuses of all activities contained in the system administration plan as needed (e.g. monthly or quarterly).
Provide operational support including but not limited to tracking and reconciling database records; managing NMCI and telecom invoices memos applications and other related information associated with Corporate and Technical Department IT assets such as RDT&E DADMS CWF CfM details and logistics and telecommunications devices; track A&A statuses; Transfer Agents; Endpoint Security Solutions (ESSs); System Authorization Request Navy support; updating databases spreadsheets web sites and other records associated with Department Information Technology assets and resources; attend meetings and communicate results to the appropriate DIO.
