The Associate Director of Graphic Design contributes to the overall vision and goals of Oklahoma Athletics by creating storytelling and engaging content that creates compelling narratives through multimedia. For assigned sports and functions the associate director formulates design concepts templates and other collateral that consistently maintain and elevate the Oklahoma Athletics brand from initial concept to final execution.
Essential Functions:
- Organize and manage multiple design projects in various stages of progress
- Formulate design concepts presentations templates layouts merchandise signage and other collateral from initial idea to final execution while meeting self-imposed and external deadlines
- Design promotional materials for both print and digital platforms for all athletics-related departments and teams as assigned using the Adobe
- Creative Cloud (primarily but not limited to Photoshop InDesign and Illustrator)
- Formulate graphic concepts and templates that can be distributed and deployed for others use within the department
- Participate in new content development and idea generation to help drive the brand and narrative of Oklahoma Athletics
- Collaborate with photographers to develop creative direction and assist in its execution with student-athletes at photoshoots
- Collaborate with departmental stakeholders including but not limited to Communications Marketing SoonerVision and sport coaching staff members to continually align and elevate departmental initiatives.
Required Education and Experience:Bachelors Degree AND:
- 12 months of graphic design experience.
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelors degree for a total of 60 months of related experience.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Detail-oriented for accuracy of data and information
- Highly organizd and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
- Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
- Knowledge or graphic design principles
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications
Working Conditions:
- Ability to engage in repetitive motions
- Sitting for prolonged periods
- Standard office environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of graphic design experience for a creative firm professional team or collegiate athletics department
- Knowledgeable of basic design software including but not limited to: Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop InDesign Illustrator)
- Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
