Job Summary
Systems Engineer (at the rank of IT Officer) in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering(Ref: 533169) (to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Key Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess a university degree in Computer Engineering Computer Science or related fields with at least 5 years of relevant experience in embedded system development and circuit design preferably in a field related to higher education or professional engineering services and prior experience in cloud server setup and maintenance.
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
- Proficiency in embedded system programming using C C and Python etc. Prior experience in embedded system development to cloud using STM32 ESP32 Arduino Raspberry Pi or Jetson Nano is a plus.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently under pressure; self-motivated attentive to details and a good team player.
Key Responsibilities
The appointee will provide high-level administrative support to one or more functions of the Department including:
- Assisting in developing and implementation of IT strategies aligned with Department development goals;
- Designing and documenting scalable secure and efficient architectures for data applications and technology systems;
- Developing processes for seamless integration and interoperability of systems ensuring consistency and reliability;
- Establishing and enforcing technical standards and best practices ensuring regulatory compliance and effective use of tools;
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to design and implement enterprise architecture solutions;
- Performing duties as assigned by the Head of the Department or his/her delegate.
