General Summary:
The High School JV Wrestling Assistant Coach works under the direction of the Head Varsity Wrestling Coach and the Athletic Director to provide a high-quality competitive and educational experience for student-athletes. This position is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the wrestling program including practices meets and team management. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of wrestling a passion for working with young people and a commitment to fostering a positive and supportive team.
Qualifications:
- Build outstanding relationships with students staff and parents.
- Previous experience particularly at the HS or college level.
- Strong knowledge of techniques strategies and rules.
- Excellent leadership communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire student athletes.
- CPR certified if required by the MHSAA.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist the Head Coach in planning and executing daily practices plans.
- Provide individualized and group instruction on wrestling techniques form and match strategy.
- Help supervise and monitor athletes during practices and competitions to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Motivate and encourage athletes to reach their full potential both as wrestlers and as individuals.
- Teach and reinforce the importance of good sportsmanship teamwork and discipline.
- Help with the organization and distribution of team equipment and uniforms.
- Communicate effectively with the Head Coach Athletic Director student-athletes and
parents.
- Participate in staff meetings and other program-related events as required.
Other Job Responsibilities:
- Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director
Directly Responsible To:
Terms of Employment:
- As described in the Northview Public Schools NVEA Schedule B-2 contractual agreement.
- Fall athletic season (Nov. - March.)
- After school practices meets and some weekend meets
- Paid through Edustaff
Evaluation:
- Annual evaluation performed by the Athletic Director/Head Coach
