DHL Same Day is DHL Global Forwardings global time critical & white glove service. With our flexibility of services meeting the emergency shipment needs of a wide range of industries whether its the extensive database of aircraft parts we maintain for our Aircraft On Ground clients or expediting mission-critical parts globally for our Semiconductor and Automotive clients or the ability to meet time-critical temperature-sensitive needs unique to Life Sciences and clinical trial logistics DHL Same Day gets the shipment there when it has to be for any business or organization.
Overall Role Purpose
The Finance Process/RTR Manager is responsible for managing the general ledger preparing financial statements reconciling accounts and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The Finance Process/RTR Lead will oversee the Same Day OTC PTP and RTR teams while also supporting the DGF US organization with Finance related projects. They will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely financial information supporting the organizations decision making and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the Accounting functions (accounts payable accounts receivable and GL) of DHL Same Day as well collaborate closely with the DGF US accounting team.
Collaborate with other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations.
Support special projects such as system upgrades or process transformations and engage in synergies within DGF US and DHL Same Day.
Maintain and manage general ledger ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Post journal entries accruals and adjustments in compliance with accounting principles.
Execute month-end and year-end close processes including preparing reconciliations adjustments and reports.
Ensure timely completion of closing activities and deliverables.
Perform account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies ensuring financial data integrity.
Analyze financial data and provide variance explanations.
Prepare and deliver financial statements management reports and other require reports.
Support internal and external reporting requirements including statutory filings and regulatory compliance.
Ensure adherence to internal controls company policies and accounting standards (e.g. GAAP IFRS) and assisting in implementing robust control processes.
Assist in implementing robust financial controls.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors by providing required documentation and explanations.
Address audit findings and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Role Requirements
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
5-10 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting roles.
Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting reconciliations and financial reporting processes.
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g. S21 SAP Oracle) and advance skills in MS Excel.
Familiarity with accounting standards such as GAAP or IFRS.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
