NATURE AND SCOPE OF WORKThis is a temporary Long Term Substitute position covering for a permanent employee on FMLA from December 2025 through the end of the school year in June High School is looking to hire a Biology Teacher for the 2025-2026 academic year. Major ResponsibilitiesDesign well-structured units and engaging lessons guided by the Massachusetts Curriculum a growth mindset in all students based on a firm understanding of adolescent a variety of timely assessments to measure and report student passionate and optimistic about their students their content and the teaching and scaffold instruction while providing clear and high subject matter to real-world settings and other content a trauma-informed class climate that promotes inclusion embraces diversity and maintains a culturally responsive learning environment where every student participates and is valued as part of the class communityBuild relationships of regard and respect with students parents and families with effective two-way communication to support student to a collaborative adult learning community in service of student and improve professional competence through attendance at professional development events and by self-generated activities that meet district expectations and the requirements for reflect on practice seek and respond to feedback and demonstrate self-awareness and commitment to continuous learning and to a collaborative adult learning community in service of student current curriculum a professional culture characterized by competence caring and other duties that may be assigned by the building FOR THE POSITION Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Biology preferred.
