The Department of Economic Security Division of Employment and Rehabilitation Services (DERS) strengthens Arizona communities by bridging and minimizing gaps to employment and independence.
DES is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Project Manager Intermediate with the Workforce Solutions Administration (WSA). This position is responsible for managing complex high-level projects that support the Workforce Solutions Administrations strategies. The Project Manager Intermediate oversees all aspects of the project lifecycle and facilitates cross-functional collaboration to improve quality efficiency and client outcomes. The role includes supervising project staff guiding operational improvements applying lean management principles and ensuring compliance with standards laws and performance goals. Additional duties involve data analysis reporting training program promotion and extensive in-state travel for project implementation.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the departments business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop organize implement and monitor inter-connected special projects which support Division and Administration mission strategic objectives and goals.
Develop facilitate and coordinate projects and programs to support the achievement of Breakthrough Objectives (BTO) Annual Improvement Priorities and other strategic priorities.
Develop and maintains spreadsheets databases and tracking systems.
Work cross-functionally to solve problems and implement change.
Promote a continuous improvement culture through training and oversight of administration staff; monitoring and evaluating the efficiency effectiveness.
Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management.
Knowledge of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
Knowledge of the Principles of leadership and supervision.
Skills in achieving desired results and outcomes through influence.
Skills in planning directing and monitoring group processes.
Skills in making independent decisions.
Ability to utilize databases Tableau MS Office and Google tools.
Ability to perform analytical and administrative tasks including critical daily responsibilities under tight time constraints.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
Bachelors degree plus three or more years experience in project coordination and management (or equivalent).
Project Management certification or training.
Experience implementing and managing workplace change initiatives particularly those involving support for Servant Leadership.
Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agencys ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.

Travel will be required for State business. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current valid class-appropriate drivers license complete all required training and successfully pass all necessary drivers license record checks. The license must be current unexpired and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on State business are subject to drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on State business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code A.A.C. R.11).

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
