About the Role

Were looking for a dynamic Strategic Lead - Tech and Education to take the reins of this pivotal role. As the connector between technology education and industry youll:

• Develop and execute plans to attract support and grow technology-driven businesses within Whanganui.
• Create stronger partnerships between education providers and local businesses to align workforce development with sector needs.
• Support efficient pathways for students and adult learners from education into employer-demanded employment.
• Lead initiatives to enhance digital capability and innovation across local businesses.
• Grow Whanganuis international education offerings and attract international students.
• Facilitate key groups including the Tertiary Steering Group and Skills and Talent Advisory Group.
• Create data dashboards that visualize workforce and international education data for stakeholders.

What You Bring

Were seeking an accomplished professional with expertise in both technology and education sectors. Heres what will set you apart:

• Appropriate tertiary qualification and a current NZ drivers license.
• Strong project management skills with a proven ability to deliver strategic initiatives.
• Minimum 5 years experience in a facilitation position contributing to strategy development and influencing organization-wide change.
• Experience working within the broader education & training sector.
• Strong IT and computer skills to support digital infrastructure and innovation initiatives.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to engage diverse stakeholders and secure buy-in.

Experience in the tech sector tertiary education training sector or local government is highly desirable. Most importantly youve got an inquisitive mind a growth mindset and are ready to take on a role that spans multiple sectors and make it your own.
