This role forms part of the Executive management team in our Insurance entity. This role holds the PCF 14 responsibilities.
Role
EIID is an Irish regulated non-life insurance company. It operates in multiples jurisdictions with 6 branches including a Third Country Branch in the UK that is regulated by the PRA/FCA. The Company has grown significantly since its inception and has continued plans for growth and development. We write specialty property and casualty business.
The role holder will continue to lead the development and implementation of our risk management function. The successful candidate will possess relevant industry experience solid experience implementing best practice risk frameworks excellent organizational skills strong written and verbal communication skills initiative and excellent influencing skills.
Collaborating with and influencing senior colleagues across multiple functional areas and international Everest offices this role will have a high profile. As part of a rapidly growing business division the role holder will have the opportunity to shape this role and the future development of the risk function. The successful candidate will provide risk-based insights to support Everest in making the right business and strategic decisions.
The role requires significant experience within the non-life insurance sector and in-depth understanding of non-life insurance and strategic risks. The role holder will be self-motivated and well-organised and able to manage and prioritise a broad range of activities in the context of a rapidly growing business.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the executive team to comply with their regulatory and governance duties
Promote continuous enhancement of Everest risk culture.
Provide leadership and direction to the risk management team
Development of Annual Risk plan and delivering actions against the plan including leading the co-ordination of actions to address regulatory developments relating to risk management.
Support the ongoing development implementation and embedding of an increasingly sophisticated risk management framework while ensuring it meets the required Prudential standards set out by the CBI and PRA
Ensuring that the firms recovery plan is kept up to date and relevant
Ensuring key risk indicators and risk dashboards are in place to monitor risk profile and work with senior management on the results of monitoring
Managing and overseeing the Own Risk & Solvency Assessment (ORSA) process including stress-tests and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of information provided to the Central Bank
Undertake deep dive reviews of selected risks.
Work in close collaboration with multiple stakeholders spanning senior leadership department heads and first line subject matter experts to provide risk management advice support oversight and challenge.
Liaise with and contribute to Group ERM leveraging the benefit of local risk management expertise and deploying new Group ERM tools and developments as appropriate.
Oversee the production of risk management papers and reporting for Management Risk Committee and Board as required.
Support and contribute to the annual business planning process
Competencies skills and experience:
Deep expertise in non-life insurance risks with strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks including CBI and PRA.
