Math Interventionist (0.5 FTE One Year Only) Needed
Location: Williston Central School
Williston Schools has a one-year .50 FTE opening for a K-8 math intervention position that will focus on providing additional math support for our multi-lingual learners. This dynamic position may include the following:
- Small group instruction based on the grade level curriculum units and/or gaps in math skills/concepts
- Support within math classrooms Ongoing collaboration with math teachers to meet the needs of students
- Ongoing collaboration with MLL teachers CVSD Math Learning Facilitators and math interventionists to develop practices and systems
The ideal candidate will be licensed in the area of mathematics or elementary education have a strong interest/background in best practices for MLL students and have proven expertise in the following areas:
- Building student relationships Experience with the common core math standards
- Knowledge and value of the math practice standards
- Understanding of how to use math learning progressions
- Experience with current math instructional practices
- Collaborating with a wide-variety of educators
- Collecting interpreting and using data to drive instruction
- Demonstrating flexibility organization and initiative
- Ability to self-direct the work as needed
