Job Summary


Sheraton Galleria Atlanta is a beautifully renovated hotel ideally located just minutes from Truist Park home of the Atlanta Braves. If you have a passion for planning and executing exceptional events developing client relationships and driving sales success we want you to be part of our team! As an Catering & Event Sales Manager youll play a pivotal role in bringing our hotels event offerings to life ensuring our clients have a memorable experience while maximizing revenue. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Solicitation of new and existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals through telephone/e-mail solicitation outside sales calls virtual/site inspections and written communication
  • Responsible for booking Catering Only Business and Detailing all Banquet and Catering Events and execution
  • Book new catering business also the ability to detail the events
  • Achieve catering booking goals
  • Work with the operation team to execute group meeting and event business
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to maximize revenue. Meet sales goals through the development of new customers as well as nurturing existing client relationships
  • Quote rates and availability to customers from catering leads alongside revenue management for optimal pricing
  • Upsell to current groups and events
  • Communicate effectively with all hotel departments but also work independently
  • Set-up and execution of events as needed
  • Work with client directly to form Banquet Event Orders allowing the group to accomplish their goals
  • Assist with other areas as assigned by the General Manager Director of Sales and Marketing Director of Group Sales and VP of Sales and Marketing
  • Work with outside catering companies and local vendors to execute successful events
  • Log all sales related activity in the sales software system
  • Utilize onsite reservation system- Lightspeed experience preferred to manage group reservations
  • Some weekend office coverage as needed

Requirements


  • Knowledge of CI/TY and Marriott systems to include Lightspeed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word Office Internet Explorer/Google Chrome
  • Well organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently
  • Display initiative perseverance and analytical skills
  • Effective communication & additional language ability preferred.
  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
  • Must have a knowledge of applicable Federal state and local health safety and legal regulations.
  • Ability to timely obtain any required licenses or certificates.
  • CPR training and first aid training preferred.
