Position Summary
The Changeover Crew Supervisor is responsible for leading one of our conversion crews at Chartway Arena and/or at S.B. Ballard Stadium in a safe and efficient manner under the direction of the Operations Manager. This includes staging chairs linens platforms and other necessary equipment for our clients. The Supervisor will be responsible for training planning for and overseeing Changeover Crew members.
This role will pay an hourly rate of $20.00

About the Venue
Chartway Arena is a 9100-seat multi-purpose arena located on the campus of Old Dominion University. Operated by OVG360 since it opened in 2002 Chartway Arena is known as one of the premier mid-sized collegiate venues in the country. Chartway Arena is home to Old Dominion Monarch Mens and Womens basketball as well as concerts family shows and other attractions for the Hampton Roads area.
Responsibilities
- Supervises and assists crews in the set-up and strike before during and after events include setting stages tables chairs carpet pipe and drape rises etc. and operation of equipment and maintaining supplies needed for events.
- Assists in orienting instructing and training new and existing employees in the areas of proper event set-up and tear-down proper storage of supplies and equipment maintenance.
- Confirms the readiness of all areas prior to an event to ensure cleanliness/accuracy as defined in the event sheet or standard department protocol.
- Lead staff in absence of Operations Manager
- Provides direction to the Crew with event set-up/changeover activities in accordance with the event sheet.
- Supervises the work activities of contract labor and temporary agency personnel.
- Assist in other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager
Qualifications
- 1 to 2 years of experience performing task similar or related to event set-up/tear-down activities.
- Must be customer service focused and willing to interact with the public during events.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs. or more on a regular basis.
- Ability to multitask.
- Must be able to read and understand event sheets and corresponding floor plans.
- Must be willing to be certified in operating a forklift.
- Can climb up and down stairs.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Must be able to work nights weekends and holidays.
