ABOUT US

The hotel consists of 192 design-led bedrooms complemented by Parkers Tavern a high-end quintessentially British restaurant & bar along with the adjoining library bar and ballroom.

Set in the heart of Cambridge University Arms is the go to destination alluring visitors with the promise of a sense of modern luxury adorned with moments of enchanting discovery.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING

As a linen porter you are responsible for counting distributing linen cleaning store cupboards and replenishing amenities to deliver an excellent guest experience. You will assist the room and public area attendants to maintain guest rooms public areas and back-of-house areas to a high standard.

THE DUTIES

  • Place linen and towels in the cages for transport to the laundry.
  • Replenish the Room Attendant cupboard on a regular basis.
  • Receiving housekeeping deliveries and replenishing stock as and when requested.
  • To examine laundered items to ensure cleanliness and serviceability.
  • To store laundered linen on shelves after verifying items.
  • Work together with your team and liaise with other departments to ensure the smooth running of daily operations.
  • Able to dispatch and collect linen where necessary to and from departments as required.
  • Happy to assist with the processing of both guest and Team Members laundry and dry cleaning as required.
  • Able to assist with the moving of furniture i.e beds cots etc.
  • Ensure the linen store is well-maintained and stocked.
  • Report maintenance issues
  • Carry out lost property procedures.
  • Reporting any misused linen or stock losses.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR IN YOU

  • Previous experience as a Room Attendant Public Area Attendant or Linen Porter in a hotel would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Ability to take on a physically demanding job.
  • A commitment to delivering high levels of cleanliness.
  • A positive attitude and a passion for hospitality
  • Attention to detail.
