TEGNAs broadcast operations hub the TEGNA Stream Center in Charlotte NC seeks a Senior Broadcast Engineer to join our role will be responsible for processes development documentation and support for TEGNAs Spoke-Hub server and workstation platform within the Charlotte TEGNA Stream Center (TSC) Hub. Building and maintaining strong positive relationships with our TSC team members and our key vendor partners is the cornerstone for this role.

The Senior Broadcast Engineer will recommend architect and implement toolsets and services to ensure the health security and optimal performance of the TEGNA Hub Data Centers on-premise infrastructure and Spoke infrastructure. They will be responsible for documenting changes upgrades and evaluations to ensure technology is deployed and maintained with minimal impact to the Hub business center. The Engineer will work effectively with other IT teams corporate departments business units consultants and service providers to ensure smooth operation of TEGNAs Broadcast platforms within the Charlotte Hub environment.

The Senior Broadcast Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing solutions to enhance the TSC viability including but not limited to patch application Crispin Mapper rule changes PRTG implementation IP hardware upgrades. The individual in this role should also have familiarity with multicast environments video routers PTA servers automation and server patching.

Responsibilities:

• Manage & Respond to changes and problems in a positive professional manner proactively interact with TSC operations and stations to discover areas of improvement while not accepting but challenging status quo.
• Ensure Tegnas and the TSC environments are healthy and secure. Document all changes and resolutions.
• Manage and execute special projects.
• Architect and implement toolsets and build workflows to drive automation.
• Provide on-call and after-hours support through an on-call rotation.

Requirements:

• College degree or higher OR equivalent Operational/Technical experience.
• 2 years of demonstrated experience with server and automation orchestration Technical management as well as IP monitoring.
• Experience with automation such as Crispin.
• Knowledge of broadcast software applications such as Crispin Harmonic Evertz and Telestream arte a definite plus.
• Scripting languages including PowerShell
• Ability to prioritize multiple complex tasks/projects and follow through to completion independently or as part of a team.
• As a member of a service organization ability to effectively communicate technical topics to various levels of internal customers and outside business partners. Interact with customers with empathy and in a mature and pleasant manner.
• Must be available to provide on-call and after-hours support on an on-call rotation schedule. #LI-MS1
