Major Duties :Solves complex problemsTakes a new perspective on existing solutionsExercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of informationImpacts a range of client operational project or service activities within own team and other related teamsIdentifies and implements process improvementsWorks within broad guidelines and policiesIndependently manages client relationships of varying complexity (independently evaluating and responding to client inquiries determining service requirements providing training producing client reporting and helping clients interpret financial metrics to understand the impact of their investment decisions)Regularly Interfaces with senior staff at Northern Trust and/or client offices (CIOs Treasurers Directors of Investments) without (or with minimal) oversightProvides leadership to internal IRAS operations and client servicing partners to problem solve client issues and requestsProvides data quality oversight assistance with prioritization of work and mentorship to less tenured team membersLeads client projects and provides solutions to client requestsAssists management with strategic projects and initiativesKnowledge :Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplinesApplies best practices and how own area integrates with othersIs aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the marketExplains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensusUses insights into how the IRAS team integrates with other Northern Trust teams within Business Services C&IS and Wealth Management to coordinate efforts and resources to achieve shared and individual objectives as well as to provide leadership in solving cross-practice problemsExpected to use judgement to make decisions without seeking approvalExperience :Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experienceMay lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirementsProvides formal and informal guidance to less tenured team membersAccountable for own contributionsBachelors degree required preferably in business finance technology or related field3 years investment analysis or trust-investment related background investments operations client-servicing or transferable experience from a related fieldInterest in or progress towards advanced degree CFA CIPM CAIA or other investments-related professional designation is a plusPrior client-servicing or sales experience requiredBusiness judgment is required in order to quickly assess a situation and proactively develop solutions to complex client needsUse of Microsoft Office tools advanced Excel skills preferredExposure to Northern Trust or third party financial software is a plusEffective organizational written and verbal client servicing management and multi-tasking skills.Working with Us:
