Your role and work environment:
We are looking for a knowledgeable and delivery-oriented Finance Business Partner Lead that would like to take an exciting opportunity in ING Spain for helping us to define and drive our ambition to be a strategic partner to senior management and business leaders.
It will be an ad-interim position in which for a 1-year period you will be leading the Finance Business Partner team within Management Accounting in the CFO function.
Leading a team of 7 engaged professionals you act as an advisor to the key business leaders in the bank (Retail Tribes Wholesale Banking Leadership & GT). You will have an end-2-end perspective of our key products (Income Pricing Expenses Balances profitability and performance ratios). You translate this into a long-term vision for the bank and compare this against our current performance and external market trends to initiate new initiatives to bring our strategy into execution. And you are preparing regular updates to Product Leadership and other key stakeholders to monitor and report on our performance.
This position will place you in a dynamic environment with frequent exposure to senior leaders growth potential and the ability to have real impact on the future of our bank. You will receive close support and attention from your manager and peers in the delivery of your duties and your professional development.
You are a collaborative professional who listens and invests in others to achieve common goals. You combine strong analytical and numerical skills with a natural ability to communicate to and convince senior leadership. You are able to simplify complexity by extracting the key messages from different information sources and translate this into powerful (written & verbal) presentations and reports.
Your key responsibilities:
What youll be doing as a Finance Business Partner Manager:
Act as a linking pin between the business leadership and the rest of the finance function ensuring the banks strategy and financial ambition are known shared and embraced as one team.
Business performance understanding monitoring and forecasting.
Full control and analysis of the actual figures understanding the external and internal income risk costs RWA and balance sheet developments.
Active forecasting anticipating business developments in close cooperation with business representatives.
Ongoing development and refinement of financial models thanks to the in-depth knowledge of the business (actuals & forecast).
Being the finance partner to business stakeholders
Ad hoc analyses & research to support key strategic initiatives & pricing.
Share insights and challenge the existing business E2E performance.
Collaborate in and challenge new business development proposals.
Being able to translate analyses and business performance into concise and powerful presentations
Strategy papers and presentations (ExCo offsites meeting with senior management).
Business Performance monitoring.
Local committees (ALCO Pricing etc.).
Drive continuous Team development process & controls improvement:
Inspire and challenge the team to continuously keep developing and gaining the required skills to be the best they can be.
Be the leader on process improvement and automation initiatives to free-up resources for value added analysis and tasks.
Take the next step in improving implementation automation and documentation of controls to further strengthen all key processes.
Be an active contributor to the overall strategic partnering/financial planning function in finance. Bring your deep understanding of business and product knowledge into cross functional strategic discussions on:
Analyses on efficiency and business performance metrics
Strategy papers and presentations
Performance review sessions (MIS QPC ExCo reports etc.)
Local committees (ALCO Pricing etc.)
Feed your curiosity with research and competition monitoring. Keep an eye on the market!
What are we looking for
A strong set of technical and analytical abilities.
Masters or bachelors degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience (preferably in banking and/or consulting).
Excellent speaking and writing skills in English is a must.
Good analytical skills. Understanding of advanced financial modelling and model optimization / automatization.
Proven planning & organizational skills.
Problem solving mindset.
Well-developed cooperation and communication skills to be able to act as a linking pin and smoothly interact with all departments and colleagues involved
Ability to work on an international level.
