Position Summary:
The Physical Therapy Aide plays an essential support role in a busy clinical setting by assisting the physical therapy team with patient care preparation equipment setup and maintaining a clean safe and organized treatment environment. This role requires strong interpersonal skills physical stamina and a proactive team-oriented attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare treatment areas equipment and supplies prior to therapy sessions
Assist with positioning equipment and patients for treatment as directed by the therapist
Support patients with the use of exercise equipment and help them get in and out of the pool when aquatic therapy is used
Assist patients in performing prescribed exercises under the therapists guidance
Maintain a safe and clean environment by following infection control and facility policies
Monitor and maintain inventory of therapy supplies; notify director or coordinator of restocking needs
Reset therapy areas between patient sessions to ensure readiness for the next use
Skills Education and Experience:
High School Diploma College Diploma or minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare or rehab setting
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to maintain professional hygiene and appearance
Physically capable of assisting patients and performing tasks that involve standing bending and lifting

Friendly approachable and supportive with patients and staff
Organized and responsible with strong attention to cleanliness and safety
Willingness to learn and take direction from licensed physical therapists
