Today were a 400 strong team (were thinking of getting matching jackets) who create print and digital products for companies of all sizes from Google and AirBnB to the guy who makes those amazing prints you found at a craft fair.

As a Hot Stamp Foil Operator at MOO youll be joining our East Providence manufacturing team playing a vital role in expanding our custom notebook this position you will collaborate closely with our staff to create high-quality customized products that meet our customers needs and expectations.
Were looking for someone who has a passion for the details who gets a thrill out of a perfectly executed foil stamp and feels a sense of ownership over every single notebook that leaves our shop. This role is for a professional who understands that a great product is a direct result of great craftsmanship and attention to details.
As our Hot Stamp Foil Machine Operator youll be responsible for bringing our notebooks to lifestart to finish. This includes independently setting up the machine with precision applying foil or a debossed finish and ensuring every notebook meets our high-quality standards.
Were looking for a driven individual with strong mechanical skills who takes pride in their craftsmanship and can confidently manage the setup and operation of the machine without supervision. The ideal candidate demonstrates a proactive commitment to safetymaintaining a clean organized work area following established protocols and identifying potential hazards before they become issues.
Beyond daily production youll also play a key role in identifying opportunities to improve our processes enhance product consistency and uphold a safe efficient working environment
Responsibilities
- Youll be the primary operator for our hot foil stamping machine. Your main task will be to apply foil or deboss to the covers of our notebooks with precision and care.
- Machine Setup and Calibration: Get the machine ready for each new job. This includes accurately mounting dies adjusting the heat and pressure settings and properly loading foil reels to ensure a perfect stamp every time
- Quality Control: Youll be key to quality. This means youll consistently inspect each stamped notebook to ensure the foil is applied correctly and is free of imperfections misregistration or poor adhesion
- Production and Efficiency: Run production jobs efficiently working to meet daily output goals. Youll need to use the machines controls to track job progress and recall settings for recurring projects to save time
- Maintenance: Keep your machine running smoothly by performing routine cleaning and preventative maintenance. This includes:
- Conducting daily weekly and monthly maintenance tasks as outlined in the machines manual
- Performing routine lubrication cleaning of stamping plates and guides and inspecting belts and moving parts for wear
- Proactively identifying and reporting any potential mechanical issues to avoid unexpected downtime
- Maintaining a clean and safe work area to ensure optimal machine performance and safety
About You
- Experience in manufacturing or production: You have experience working in a fast-paced production environment where youve followed procedures and met output goals
- Mechanical aptitude: Youre naturally good with machines and tools and you can easily troubleshoot and fix minor or major issues
- Attention to detail: You have a keen eye for quality and precision ensuring every product is perfect
- Preferred: Background in printing or finishing
Nice to Haves
- Previous experience operating a hot stamp or foil stamping machine
- Specific experience with bookbinding printing or notebook production
- Familiarity with various foil materials and different types of notebook covers (e.g. leatherette linen paper)
