Position Description:

The University of Louisville School of Dentistry prepares students for a career in Practice Clinics is where residents provide dental care directly to patients. The School of Dentistry is seeking a Dental Receptionist to work at the front desk at the UofL Graduate Practice located at 501 S. Preston Street Louisville KY 40202.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet direct and interview patients.
  • Enter demographic data in the computerized patient information system.
  • Answer telephone calls and handle inquiries.
  • Schedule patient appointments.
  • Compile patient charts.
  • Serve as cashier; accept payments from patients; enter financial data into computer; issue receipts; balance cash drawer at end of day; set up payment contracts; work with insurance companies to obtain pre-authorizations; track payments and troubleshoot issues.
  • Additional HIPAA / privacy training upon hiring; Infection Control training.
