We are actively seeking an experienced Regulatory Advisor to join our Calgary Alberta office. Reporting directly to the Team Lead Regulatory this full-time role is integral to supporting and leading regulatory activities particularly in drafting applications and amendments for both conventional and in-situ thermal projects. The successful candidate will aid development and operations teams foster relationships with regulatory agencies and support corporate governance reporting and assurance initiatives.
Position Overview:
Application Leadership: Lead the creation and submission of precise and compliant applications for permits licenses and other regulatory approvals related to wells pipelines and facilities.
Regulatory Analysis: Review changes in regulations and analyze their potential impact on the business providing clear summaries to internal stakeholders.
Risk Management: Assess identify and manage both technical and non-technical risks associated with the regulatory process to ensure project success and mitigate potential issues.
Relationship Building: Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with regulatory bodies clients and other stakeholders to facilitate compliance and address emerging matters.
Stakeholder Engagement: Consult and engage with regulators consultants operations and cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and foster continuous improvement. Ensure effective document management of regulatory submissions and communications.
Audit and Reporting: Coordinate with internal and external parties during compliance audits and assessments. Contribute to reports evaluating the effectiveness of compliance programs.
Collaboration: Build collaborative relationships internally and externally to understand strategic objectives and resolve outstanding matters related to projects.
Project Management: Manage timelines decision gates and key milestones throughout the regulatory process. Streamline support for drilling operations and facility projects.
Requirements:
Post-secondary education in Business/Commerce Science/Environmental Science or Engineering.
Strong knowledge of provincial regulations (Alberta British Columbia Saskatchewan) and federal regulations pertaining to upstream oil and gas operations applications and reporting.
Excellent communication and collaborative skills at all organizational levels.
Demonstrated ability to build positive collaborative relationships.
Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
Minimal field travel required; must possess a valid drivers license.
