Job Description

The Opportunity

The SAIT Student Awards program is an $9 Million program facilitating scholarship and bursary selection of over 6000 awards per year funded by alumni industry partners government and donors who are committed to student success.
The Student Awards Coordinator maintains deep knowledge of SAITs Student Awards program and the variety of toolsets that support the program and is primarily responsible for the technical coordination of the program. Reporting to the Manager Advancement Services and Student Awards you will implement new awards and manage existing awards in all award toolsets provide first response triage for technical issues and serve as project manager for specialty and government addition the successful candidate will monitor selection activities coordinating staff workload to ensure all key milestones are met.

This role influences both student engagement and donor satisfaction encouraging continued and increase involvement participation and financial investment in SAIT through maintaining an effective Student Awards program. If this sounds like

The Role

    • Technical Coordination of Awards Program
    • Implement new awards in a variety of systems ensuring donor intent regulatory requirements and scoring rubrics are created
    • Implement and manage award scoring data uploads and other technical functions
    • Ensure online application processes are operating effectively and efficiently
    • Run award disbursement
    • First point of contact for technical triage
    • Work with project team(s) on annual software upgrades new toolset implementation

    • Annual Tasks
    • Facilitation of student awards directory
    • Perform annual academic year rollover activities ensuring the database reflects all changes
    • Assist with providing input to the Stewardship Team participating in student facing events as necessary

    • Award Selection Oversight
    • Facilitate cross campus support of the award selection process
    • Ensure consistent monitoring and prompt responses to inbound requests
    • Monitor weekly tasks related to disbursement of awards
    • Monitor ongoing task completion recommending workload adjustments as required
    • Ensure key deliverables are met

    • Process Improvement & Project Work
    • Creative and efficient lens on program processes continually seeking to move the program forward
    • Work collaboratively with Student Awards Lead to ensure clear documentation effective improvements testing is completed

Qualifications & Experience

    • Post-secondary education in communications fund development business and/or financial management marketing
    • 3-5 years directly related experience is required
    • Scholarship bursary and/or Banner experience would be considered an asset
    • Post-secondary work experience is preferred
    • Experience working with data and coding languages such as HTML or SQL is an asset
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Skills & Knowledge

    • Strong computer skills including working knowledge of Banner Database System Microsoft Office applications project management toolsets
    • Strong discretionary leadership skillssuch as concise and persuasive written and verbal communication
    • Initiative and sound judgment

    • An ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders
    • Flexibility and an ability to identify priorities
