Princeton Secondary School

Nicola-Similkameen School District No. 58 recognizes that we learn teach and work on the ancestral traditional and unceded territories of the NleeKepmx and Syilx people and we acknowledge our Métis communities and their contributions to the Aboriginal ways of being knowing and doing. Together we are proud to deliver public education for approximately 2200 students 40% of whom are Indigenous. The work of the District is guided by our Strategic Plan the LEA and Aboriginal Education Enhancement Agreement / Equity Scan supported by a dedicated staff engaged rightsholders and partners who share a genuine commitment to the District schools students and families.

The Nicola-Similkameen School District serves Merritt and Princeton as well as surrounding areas and 6 First Nations communities. The mountains lakes and valleys that hold the District provide an incredible natural setting for many outdoor activities. We offer a warm small-town culture where relationships are fundamental to our shared successes. Princeton is in the beautiful Similkameen Valley and has easy access to both the Okanogan and the Lower Mainland.

Princeton Secondary School is a grade 8 to 12 high school in Princeton British Columbia. The schools population is approximately 190 students. Princeton Secondary School has a staff that is committed to excellence in learning works closely together as a professional team and deeply values the opportunity to create a vibrant culture that engages students staff families and the larger community. The Principal of Princeton Secondary School is also responsible for the Bridge Alternate program. Both learning communities strive for personal excellence in a safe inclusive and caring environment which actively motivates intellectual social emotional and physical development for lifelong learning.

Experience with secondary school curriculum instruction assessment and programming.

An innovative vision for engaging every learner with a goal of increasing success and life opportunities for all students.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Student Support Services and a proven commitment to advocacy and inclusion.

Collaborated with parents/guardians teachers support staff administrators and district staff.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that recognize the diverse communities that we serve.

Proven expertise in trauma-informed and Compassionate Systems work and a deep understanding and proven practice of positive mental health promotion.

Knowledge and experience in using technology to enhance learning.

Modeled and supported continuous inquiry and professional learning for self and others.

Found opportunities to challenge themselves and grow as a leader in education.

A proven commitment to engaging with the community beyond the school building and school day.

The ideal candidate should possess:

Master of Education Degree in Leadership Administration Special Education Counselling Psychology Curriculum or related degree.

B.C. Teaching Regulation Branch Certificate (TRB).

Successful school-based leadership experience.

Knowledge of provincial initiatives and resources.

A focus on success for every student.

Excellent teaching and instructional leadership experience.


Start Date: October 6 2025 to July 31 2026


The salary range for this position is per the BCPSEA Regional Salary Model for Vice Principals - $137931 to $145318 per year.
