This position will serve as Business Technology Analyst responsible for aiding in data collection and analytics and creating and maintaining data visualizations within the Office of Data Research and Statistical Analysis at Headquarters.
This position allows you to interact and learn with almost every aspect of the correctional system.

Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in information technology project management or business analysis; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus one year of experience in information technology project management or business analysis; OR
An associates degree in information technology plus one year of experience in information technology project management or business analysis; OR
A bachelors degree plus one year of experience in information technology project management or business analysis; OR
A bachelors degree with twenty-four semester hours in an information technology computer science engineering mathematics or business analytics field; OR
A masters degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
NOTE:
A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
- Designs and maintains dashboards within a data visualization tool that can be used for data driven decision making by the agency.
- Assists in querying specific data from DPS&C inmate data systems to provide to other governmental units citizen groups and private organizations or performance indicators contained in department databases.
- Learns to conduct project analyses relative to technology initiatives business processes and/or systems.
Work with: The Office of Data Research and Statistical Analysis team.

Appointment Type: PROBATION or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEE
- Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.
- An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
- This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment should a permanent position become available the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
