Full time rostered shift work Friday Tuesday (Wed Thurs Off) rotating AM (7am 3.30 pm) and PM (1.30 10 pm) shifts fortnightly . Rural location Travel allowance paid
Support Worker / Peer Support worker role within our Wahine Residential AOD Programme is pivotal in Wahine Whaiora journeys to wellbeing.

PurapuraWhetupartner withOdysseyHouseChristchurchwhohavebeenproviding drug and alcohol treatment programmes for over 30 years. Our Womens Residential programme offers a mix of clinical approaches including Māori and Pasifika concepts of Hauora within a Therapeutic Community model.
AspartofourresidentialteamyouwillbuildupontheproudhistoryofPurapuraWhetuand OdysseyinCanterburyandensure the programme runs to structure and the wahine are working toward wellness.

- Supporttheresidentialprogramme throughgroup education and activities
- Attend appointments and outings with wahine whaiora
- Support wahine whaiora with a range of Hauora activities including medication food preparation and other day to day learning activities.
Ngā pūmānawatanga ōu What you will bring
- Alevel4health and wellbeing qualificationpreferablyinalcoholandotherdrugs(AOD)socialwork or mental health or be willing to work towards this
- Lived experience of Addiction and a recovery journey is advantageous with 2 years recovery journey required
- AhighlevelofunderstandingoftikangaMāori anditsimportancewithinthissetting
- Excellentjudgementandstrongboundaries
- Excellenttimemanagementskillstojugglemultipletasks
- Abilitytotake initiativebeflexibleandthinkoutthebox
This role is 40 hours per week working on a roster between 7am-10pm. Working from our residential service located in a rural Canterbury location you will need a full Drivers role is remunerated under the Support Worker pay equity rates.
We provide ongoing training opportunities and relocation support is available.
