Reporting to the Manager Marketing and Recruitment the Indigenous Recruitment & Events Coordinator specializes in attracting engaging and supporting Indigenous learners from across Alberta and Canada. As a trusted representative of SAIT you build strong respectful relationships with prospective Indigenous students their families Elders community leaders and key influencers. You connect authentically with communities through school visits cultural events and community initiatives ensuring SAITs recruitment efforts are culturally responsive and grounded in respect.
You are a personable and strategic professional who uses both in-person and virtual outreach to inspire interest in SAITs this role you work closely with Natoysopoyiis SAITs Indigenous student supports office to ensure recruitment efforts connect seamlessly with the wraparound supports available to Indigenous learners on campus Your approach blends traditional recruitment activities with creative culturally relevant experiences that reflect the unique needs and values of Indigenous audiences. You provide guidance and insight to strengthen communications ensuring Indigenous perspectives are reflected in materials events and the overall prospective student experience.
You coordinate logistics for your recruitment travel and events and often take on an advising role yourselfhelping students navigate program selection admissions and funding opportunities. Your presentations and presence leave a lasting impression supported by your deep knowledge of SAITs offerings and post-secondary education pathways. With exceptional communication skills and a commitment to relationship-building you cultivate partnerships with schools indigenous communities community organizations industry faculty and staff contributing to SAITs commitment to advancing Indigenous student success.
*Lived experience as a First Nations Métis or Inuit person is required for this role in accordance with SAITs commitment to supporting Indigenous communities and pursuant to Section 8(1) of the Canadian Human Rights Act. This position is restricted to candidates who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations Métis Inuit).
