Were seeking Criminal Records Analysts to join the Expungement Section of the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Information (BCII)a specialized team responsible for processing and maintaining Louisianas expungement records.

In this role you will review and process expungement applications update criminal history records in accordance with state and federal statutes and ensure accuracy and compliance throughout the expungement process. Analysts in this section play a key role in supporting courts attorneys law enforcement agencies and the public by ensuring that criminal history information is updated correctly and efficiently.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of experience in administrative services.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for six months of the required experience.

Job Duties and Other Information

As a Criminal Records Analyst in the Expungement Section you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy security and accessibility of Louisianas criminal history this role you will:

  • Reviewand process expungement applications to determine eligibility under state statutes.
  • Update and maintain computerized criminal history records to reflect approved expungements.
  • Research verify and reconcile case information by accessing multiple criminal justice systems.
  • Communicate with courts attorneys law enforcement agencies and the public regarding expungement procedures and requirements.
  • Prepare accurate documentation and reports to support compliance with legal standards.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to agencies on proper expungement record handling.
  • Process payments for background checks crash reports and handgun permits; balance daily in automated accounting system.
  • Maintain criminal history records agency files crash reports and handgun applications in filing and computer systems.
  • Access fingerprint cards using the Henry Classification System.
  • Generate and distribute criminal history rap sheets to agencies.
  • Process requests for access to criminal justice networks.

Position Specific Details:

Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional

Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Criminal Records Analyst 1 2 or 3.

Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday - Friday.

Compensation:The job title and salary will be determined in accordance with the applicants qualifications and experience.This position is eligible for premium pay of up to $2.00 per hour actually worked.
