Office of The Secretary Louisiana Oil Spill Coordinators Office
The Office of the Secretary serves as the departments executive management office. The Secretary is the chief officer of the Department of Energy and Natural Resources (DENR) in charge of its policy administration and operations.
The Louisiana Oil Spill Coordinators Office (LOSCO) was created by state legislature in 1991. This division serves as the single point of contact for programs related to oil spills in Louisiana. LOSCOs mission is to minimize unauthorized discharges of oil provide for an effective spill response compensate the public for damages to the states natural resources and services and assist the public through education service and public outreach.
A bachelors degree in one of the following fields: biological sciences physical sciences earth sciences environmental sciences natural sciences engineering or a related field.

This Coastal Resources Scientist 1 2 or 3 position is located within the Louisiana Oil Spill Coordinators Office Division of the Office of the Secretary and is domiciled in Baton Rouge LA. The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting in the development implementation and maintenance of the Regional Restoration Planning Program for the State. This position will assist the Oil Spill Coordinator Deputy Coordinator Coastal Resource Scientist Manager and the Environmental Scientist Manager in the performance of their duties. Additional duties include but are not limited to the following:
