About this Job:
The position is in the General Law Unit of the DOTD Legal Section. Under the oversight of an attorney supervisor and other senior attorneys this position is responsible for providing legal counsel to the Department regarding the application of and compliance with applicable state and federal laws including those pertaining to contracting and procurement funding and finance and permitting and joint use agreements. Incumbents are also responsible for drafting of Cooperative Endeavor Agreements and other specialized contracts in order to meet the needs of the Department. Incumbents may represent the department in negotiation mediation or litigation in connection with claims for damages suffered by the department disputes relating to the General Law Units areas of expertise or otherwise as assigned. Incumbents also provide support to their supervisor and Legal Section management in connection with legislation and rule promulgation and perform other tasks as assigned.
