The opportunity

We are looking for aSenior System Verification Engineerto join our team. This role offers the chance to work with diverse systems expand your knowledge through engaging tasks and contribute to a highly skilled and professional team.

Over 60 years ago Hitachi Energy revolutionized long-distance electricity transmission withHigh Voltage Direct Current (HVDC)technology. Today HVDC systems can deliver up to 12 gigawatts of power at voltage levels of up to 1100 kV spanning distances over 3000 kilometers.

You will play a key role in the success of theModular Advanced Control for HVDC (MACH) the heart of HVDC stations. MACH provides unmatched computational capacity and integrates all control and protection functions including advanced fault registration and remote-control capabilities. Designed to operate continuously for over 30 years MACH ensures reliable control and protection throughout the systems lifetime.

As part of our global R&D organization youll collaborate daily with colleagues from MACH teams in Sweden Poland and India. Youll contribute to the development of the next generation of MACH systems working in a team led byMarcus Bergblomma.

How youll make an impact

• Work with embedded real-time systems to prepare test environments test code and applications based on system requirements and international standards

• Build test environments using MACH Control System components including computers servers I/O boards and simulation tools

• Develop test cases and scenarios to verify system requirements focusing on non-functional aspects such as communication and data acquisition

• Investigate system limits and performance through targeted test scenarios

• Execute test cases for various software and hardware releases in the test lab

• Map test cases to system requirements

• Design and implement new or improved test automation functions (e.g. instrument control software loading data evaluation)

• Automate tests using our test automation framework and ensure ongoing maintenance

• Take on additional responsibilities within the system verification team such as lab maintenance license management and customer support

Your background

• Bachelors or masters degree in computer science Electrical Engineering Electronics Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience

• ISTQB or SSDLC certification and 5 years of experience in embedded system development or testing is a strong advantage

• Familiarity with graphical programming tools such as LabVIEW MATLAB Simulink LTspice HiDraw and the MACH platform

• Experience working with large modular systems similar to MACH

• Knowledge of Git is a plus

• Proficient in Python and C# with solid object-oriented design skills; familiarity with SOLID principles is beneficial

• Fluent in English; Swedish is a plus
