Job Summary

Job Purpose & Key Accountabilities

The PVV Superintendent is responsible for supervising all Piping Valves Vessels (PVV) and Pipeline construction and pre-commissioning activities at the worksite (Sohar Oman) during execution of the RUYA Batch 1 EPCIC12 Riser Platform project.

Key Responsibilities

1. Health Safety & Environment (HSE):

  • Complete all required HSE training (e.g. IF Golden Rules).

  • Promote HSE compliance by participating in toolbox meetings raising STOP cards and reporting unsafe acts.

  • Ensure all PVV works are executed safely in line with NOC and local safety regulations.

2. Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure full compliance with NOC and project specifications standards and quality requirements.

  • Coordinate with QAQC to monitor welding quality defect ratios and NCR closures.

  • Understand and enforce Management of Change (MoC) procedures.

3. Drawings & Procedures:

  • Review AFC shop and as-built drawings for PVV and pipeline works.

  • Ensure shop drawings and execution procedures are approved and available prior to fabrication.

  • Supervise preparation and timely submission of as-built drawings.

4. Materials Management:

  • Oversee delivery and inspection of PVV materials at site.

  • Monitor daily material status reports and ensure proper storage segregation and preservation practices.

  • Identify and track surplus and scrap materials.

5. Team Management & Supervision:

  • Define PVV Supervisors roles and assist in recruitment/interviews.

  • Plan and manage mobilization targets based on work fronts.

  • Allocate supervisors efficiently to monitor fabrication erection and inspection activities.

6. Fabrication & Installation:

  • Ensure availability of qualified personnel tools and equipment.

  • Supervise daily PVV activities to ensure adherence to drawings and specifications.

  • Report manpower and progress data to the Construction Head.

  • Liaise with contractor and CPY teams to resolve technical issues efficiently.

7. Pre-Commissioning & Punch List:

  • Lead pre-commissioning activities in line with specifications and project schedule.

  • Drive punch list closure in coordination with contractor and QAQC teams.

8. Communication & Coordination:

  • Maintain effective communication with contractor counterparts.

  • Conduct daily toolbox talks and coordinate short/long-term priorities.

  • Organize weekly coordination meetings with stakeholders.

9. Reporting & Meetings:

  • Submit weekly reports on progress manpower and area of concern.

  • Attend construction HSE and QAQC meetings as required.

  • Support close-out documentation and lessons learned reporting.

Detailed Activities

  • Review contractor ITPs and surveillance plans.

  • Coordinate inspection activities (e.g. RT UT MPI PMI).

  • Monitor contractor s progress reports for piping prefabrication erection and NDT.

  • Track raw material delivery and ensure compliance with specifications.

  • Participate in audits inspections and construction reviews.

  • Support riser spool-up activities ensuring proper alignment and dimensional control.

  • Enforce the Permit to Work system implementation.



Requirements


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s Degree in Engineering or equivalent in construction discipline.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years in offshore piping fabrication within the oil & gas sector.

  • At least 3 years experience on fixed platforms (topside and/or jacket).

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of NOC/TotalEnergies specs and international standards (AISC ASME API AWS ISO).

  • Proficient in technical coordination inspections and contractor supervision.

  • Familiar with pre-commissioning processes and documentation.

Other Requirements:

  • Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.

  • Computer literate (MS Office construction reporting tools).

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

  • Able to work in a multicultural and demanding offshore environment.

  • Willing to travel globally for mission requirements.
