We are hiring a Physical Therapist for one of our clients in Wayne NJ.
Job Description:
Under the supervision of a Senior Physical Therapist or other supervisor a Physical Therapist administers various types of physical therapy treatments under a physicians referral to restore function prevent disability and help patients reach maximum performance. Examples of Work
- Surveying patients to identify undetected problems.
- Reviewing patient information to determine the need for physical therapy services.
- Administering treatments using heat cold light water and electricity under a physicians direction.
- Applying diagnostic and prognostic tests for muscles nerves joints and functional abilities.
- Directing and aiding patients in exercises muscle reeducation and functional training.
- Treating patients with ultraviolet and infrared lamps whirlpool and paraffin baths and hot packs.
- Instructing patients in the use of assistive devices like wheelchairs braces canes crutches and prosthetic devices.
- Providing guidance on posture and home procedures.
- Administering other physical restorative activities and therapeutic exercises.
- Utilizing electronic and manual recording and information systems.
Experience:
- Understanding of physical therapy standards principles methods and equipment.
- Knowledge of treatment effects indications contraindications and precautionary measures.
- Ability to evaluate patients and perform appropriate treatment procedures.
- Ability to observe and record patient reactions and progress.
- Skills in fitting and adjusting orthotic and prosthetic appliances.
- Ability to evaluate and adjust physical therapy equipment.
- Ability to recognize and address potential hazards.
- Ability to work cooperatively with associates and patients.
- Ability to prepare reports and maintain records.
- Understanding of the New Jersey Physical Therapy Practice Act and related legal aspects.
- Familiarity with the Code of Ethics and Standards for Physical Therapy Services of the American Physical Therapy Association.
- Proficiency in using electronic and manual recording systems.
- Effective communication skills in English with American Sign Language or Braille as acceptable forms of communication
Additional Information:
- License: Must be registered as a Physical Therapist by the New Jersey State Board of Physical Therapists.
- Drivers License valid in NJ
Work hours:
- 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Break: 30 mins Unpaid
