Job Description

Job Title: Oracle Project Manager

Location: Chicago IL/Remote

Duration: 6 Months contract

Job Description:

The Senior Project Manager will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:

  • Taking full ownership of and managing assigned projects to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Defining project scopes initiating and managing large complex enterprise projects and programs
  • Creating and executing project work plans and revising as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Initiating and managing multiple projects in parallel and with multiple dependencies
  • Producing project reports and performance metrics
  • Communicating with the Portfolio Management Office manager and ITS management regarding the status of a portfolio of projects
  • Identifying and managing portfolio risks
  • Using influence to eliminate bottlenecks and potential resource alignment problems
  • Managing projects and programs within standard project management methodologies to time quality and budget
  • Identifying resources needed and assigning individual responsibilities
  • Managing through all stages of the project life cycle
  • Managing stakeholders and stakeholder expectations
  • Building strong project teams across multiple divisions
  • Providing excellent service to clients (internal and external to ITS)
  • Effectively managing vendor relationships in accordance with and ITS strategies and directives
  • Providing project status and other deliverables at each stage of a defined project
  • Demonstrating a willingness to collaborate and support the PMO and ITS peers and leadership
  • Planning directing and implementing complex projects on time within budget and with desired functionality
  • Supporting the advancement of the PMOs mission which involves responsibilities including but not limited to:
  • Supporting Portfolio Management that provides a forward-looking picture of project work
  • Continuously improving the Project Methodology
  • Providing input into Project Management Best Practices
  • Educating ITS staff and Project Management stakeholders on PMO processes and tools
  • Performing related duties as required
  • In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities the Senior Project Manager must possess the following skills abilities and qualifications:

  • Knowledgeable about organization and process structures

  • Ability to use and analyze data to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify and analyze the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions conclusions or approaches to problems within established policies and procedures.
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills along with strong analytic & decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to lead the work of several concurrent projects and work in a strong team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills follow through and demonstrate leadership through example.
  • Strong customer-service orientation toward internal and external customers.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve effectively.
  • Ability to use personal influence to build positive working relationships with others.

  • Ability to prepare proposals reports and other written documents with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to be responsive and available to the leadership team to address issues and concerns as they arise.
  • Ability to provide highest quality service to all customers. Must be able to multitask proficiently.
  • Record to Report Asset to Report Procure to Pay and Project with extensive background of Oracle Fusion applications

Type of Education Required:

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Masters Degree preferably an MBA with a major in Finance or Accounting preferred
  • PMP Certification strongly preferred

Type of Experience and Number of Years:

  • One end-to-end full life cycle implementation of Oracle Cloud by migrating and upgrading on-premises legacy Oracle E-Business Suite Financial Oracle BI and Hyperion EPM Applications.
  • Experience implementing ERP Applications in the area of Finance and Budgeting Procurement and Asset Management.
  • Project management experience in cross-functional systems implementations of Oracle or SAP Cloud ERP or equivalent midmarket ERP or finance system solutions.
  • Minimum fifteen (15) years of related experience required
  • At least ten (10) years of demonstrated experience in Project Management required
  • At least five (5) years of experience in implementing cross-functional ERP systems preferred
  • Experience in Education (K-12) project or program work preferred
