Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Islington to assist with the appointment of a Centre Assistant on a 3-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 13.50- 17.85 per hour

Hours per week: 20.00

Summary:

The Centre Assistant will form part of the household management team at Cardfields Environmental Centre. The role involves ensuring the centre is clean safe and welcoming to all visitors. Duties include cleaning tidying serving and clearing meals changing bedding and providing outstanding customer service. Flexibility is essential with some weekend work required. The role also carries responsibility for safeguarding children young people and vulnerable adults who use the centre.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the catering team in preparing serving and clearing meals including washing up crockery and utensils.
  • Undertake training in food hygiene and child protection at a level appropriate to the role.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children young people and vulnerable adults in line with council policies.
  • Take part in supervision training and team meetings to support personal and professional development.
  • Adhere to the Councils commitments to equality customer service health and safety and data protection.

Essentials:

  • Basic food hygiene qualification
  • Experience of general domestic tasks in a work setting.
  • Relevant experience of carrying out domestic duties (cleaning serving laundry).
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
  • Experience of working in environments supporting children and young people with an understanding of their needs (including dietary requirements).

Please note:

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
