Transmission Project Development Senior Engineer 1
Summary
The Transmission Project Development Senior Engineer 1 is responsible for sponsoring technical and engineering efforts in support of transmission utility projects. This role involves developing project scope schedules and costs while identifying synergies and cross-cutting opportunities to maximize value. The position requires coordinating and performing technical analyses for transmission-level projects and driving multiple aspects during licensing and construction to streamline and optimize resources.
Responsibilities

Oversee engineers performing diagnostics equipment monitoring inspections and grid technology reviews.

Build relationships to facilitate cross-functional knowledge transfer across work groups.

Lead the preparation of technical reports presentations and other documentation to communicate project status findings and recommendations.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective development integration and implementation of technologies and asset management strategies.

Support new equipment installation and startup leading handover processes to ramp-up and sustaining phases.

Provide guidance to junior engineers in investigating threats to distribution system infrastructure.

Gather and correlate data using engineering studies and procedures including routine and diagnostic testing of components and systems.

Facilitate training and professional development opportunities for engineering team members.

Ensure compliance with standards of conduct and integrity when handling sensitive financial and cybersecurity-related information.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Engineering or a scientific/technical/math field.

Seven or more years of experience performing engineering work in operations production construction or maintenance environments.

Valid Class C Drivers License.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience supporting testimony development for regulatory proceedings and environmental licensing.

Engineering experience with modeling and performing power system analyses on transmission systems (50 kV to 500 kV).

Experience with 50 kV substation and transmission line design with emphasis on transmission lines.

Proficiency in GE PSLF PowerWorld simulation software PLS-CADD and/or SPIDA.

Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
