Unit Size/Beds: 42 beds 21 medical & 21 Intermediate care Expected Ratios: Intermediate care 1:3 Medical - 1:6 Cases seen: PNA COPD exacerbation DKA HHS ETOH withdrawal GIB Sepsis PE UTI Respiratory failure Years of Exp preferred: 1-2 years Certifications required: ACLS BLS : Floating to other units can happen at times RN s work on both sides of the floor (med-tele & IMC) must have experience with trachs vents high-flow NC Cardiac drips BiPaP & telemetry
