UserAccount Robotics Internship

Mission of the Role

This internship will take place over the 2026 summer season and will be located at our Troy MI office.

This hands-on experience offers a unique window into what a career in the industry truly looks like - not just in terms of technical skills but also the leadership mindset that drives success.

Key Responsibilities

• Gain experience focusing on SICKs robot guidance portfolio.
• Hands on experience with industrial robot arms and leading 2D and 3D machine vision technology.
• Work on a chosen project with the assistance of the manager mentor and team.
• Work closely with the manager and a selected mentor to understand systems processes and key information.
• Actively seek out information to learn how SICK operates as a business (products departments etc.).
• Interface with other departments and interns to gain knowledge of the business products positions and more.
• Provide innovative recommendations on how SICK can improve.
• Complete a final presentation at the close of the internship that outlines the involved project(s) and knowledge gained.
• Provide feedback on the internship experience at the close of the internship.
• Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required.

Key Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Enrolled in an accredited university/college program.
  • Math-based majors are preferred such as engineering computer science physics mathematics etc.
• Strong computer and electronics skills.
  • Machine vision experience preferred.
  • Industrial programming experience preferred (robotics PLC etc.)
  • 3D modeling experience preferred (Solidworks AutoCAD etc.)
• Strong deductive and inductive reasoning skills.
• Knowledge of engineering design principles and processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-directed and able to work without supervision.
• Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.

Other Qualifications:

• Ability to self-start and learn on the fly.
• Legally permitted to work in the United States (*This position is not eligible for sponsorship now or in the future).
• Ability to work in a general office environment.

Compensation

The base salary is one part of our Total Rewards package and is determined within a range. The starting base salary range for this position is listed below; the actual starting salary will be based on a variety of factors including experience skill set education performance licenses/certifications business needs and other job-related factors as permitted by law.

• Starting Base Annual Salary Range: $24 - $34 per hour
• Bonus Eligibility: This role is NOT eligible for an annual bonus.
