POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Front of House Manager

EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

POSITION REPORTS TO: General Manager

DEPARTMENT: Dining Division

POSITION SUMMARY:

All Paradies Lagardère positions including the Front of House Manager require that you embody a positive company image by providing courteous friendly and efficient service with a smile to customers and team members. You must embrace our family culture by following our core values TRIFIC (Trust Respect Integrity First-Class Innovation Commitment) recognize and satisfy all restaurant guests as well as be accountable to the Company and Restaurant Managers. Functions include but are not limited to the following areas:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities: Reports to General Manager for the following areas and duties including but not limited to:

  • Close out registers and run required reports on a daily basis
  • Collect employee cash drops
  • Special cleaning projects or tasks
  • Properly process guest checks if needed
  • Maintain Every Team Member Every Day - Every Guest Every Time focus working tenaciously to ensure all guest have an overall positive experience
  • Comply with and enforce company and store policies including but not limited to Time and Attendance Cash Handling Workplace Safety etc.
  • Create and provide discipline to employees as needed and with approval from GM
  • Provide change to employees as needed
  • Assist with end of month procedures. i.e. inventories
  • When needed assist with the ordering of supplies.
  • Communicate with Management on a daily basis informing them of daily activities occurring in the store by noting it in the logbook.
  • Ensure all computers and printers have adequate paper and any other required supplies
  • Report all incidents emergencies and pertinent information to General Manager and Director of Operations as soon as possible
  • Ensure cleanliness of store is maintained at all times
  • Assist in expediting food and ensure all guest meals are complete and satisfying
  • Adhere to foster and enforce all aspects of the company training program including new hire training and ongoing training.
  • Provide all employees with a superior example of leadership including but not limited to friendly and efficient customer service upbeat and positive attitude towards co-workers and customers
  • Follow and enforce workplace safety rules and the procedure for handling workplace accidents
  • Understand and promote company philosophies and guest service standards
  • Misc. administrative duties i.e. waste tracking payroll / time keeping banking scheduling new hire paperwork filing etc.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY:

  • Knowledge of basic computer 10-key or Point of Sale functions.
  • Ability to understand verbal English i.e. basic guest requests related to food service.
  • Ability to write and read basic English
  • Ability to greet and converse with customers and staff in a friendly and professional manner at all times
  • Ability to handle count and balance cash receipts.
  • Take initiative to assist with smooth daily operations

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform general cleaning tasks using standard approved cleaning products as assigned by the manager.
  • Perform any side work or related duties associated with the general operations of the restaurants.
  • Perform any and all other duties asked of you related to the operation and success of the restaurant.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a supervisor required. Prior restaurant / market experience preferred
  • Obtain and maintain current Serve Safe Food Managers Certification within six months of hire/promotion.
  • Standing for long periods and the ability to work in an environment with varying temperatures.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in hotel/restaurant management is desirable. A combination of practical experience and education will be considered as an School graduation required.
  • Proficient in the following dimensions of restaurant functions: food planning and preparation purchasing sanitation security company policies and procedures personnel management recordkeeping and preparation of reports.
  • Must agree to work various shifts in a 7/365 team-oriented environment. The schedule is determined by business needs.
  • Proficiency required in reading and writing Microsoft Office Suite and mathematics
  • Any combination of education training and work experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
  • Must have sufficient self-confidence poise and interpersonal skills to be able to work effectively as part of a team and to take part in professional discussions.
  • Must be able to sustain performance under conditions of stress such as tight deadlines and detailed questioning.
  • Ability to be a team player and quick learner in a dynamic fast-paced environment with varying levels of guests and team members present.
  • Excellent customer service skills and an ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Self-starter able to prioritize and handle various tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency required in reading writing and mathematics in English.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. perform essential job functions such as standing bending reaching gripping climbing on a ladder and walking long distances.
  • Willing to participate in an airport security background check.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: CAD $50000 - $60000 per year.

Location: Located in the Domestic Departures terminal on C Pier post-security YVR Airport.

This position will require a Canadian Criminal Records Check (CCRC). This piece of documentation is a background check of your criminal history and can be acquired at your local police station. Are you willing to acquire a Canadian Criminal Record Check to work at the airport in this position
