Job Description

Leidos is seeking a Junior High Value Asset (HVA) Technical Analyst to support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Cybersecurity Support Services Program. This role is ideal for early-career professionals with hands-on experience in Security Operations Center (SOC) environments or penetration testing who are eager to grow in a mission-critical cybersecurity role.

As part of the DHS Chief Information Security Officer Directorate (CISOD) youll contribute to the protection and prioritization of High Value Assets across the Department supporting compliance with FISMA NIST guidance and federal cybersecurity frameworks.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in the identification categorization and prioritization of High Value Assets (HVAs)
  • Support vulnerability assessments and remediation planning for HVA systems
  • Conduct system analysis and recommend cybersecurity controls aligned with NIST and DHS guidance
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of HVA documentation reports and artifacts
  • Participate in process improvement efforts to enhance HVA program operations
  • Collaborate with senior analysts and federal leads to support cybersecurity assessments and reporting
  • Research and apply cybersecurity best practices to support compliance and operational resilience

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4-8 years of related experience AND a Bachelors degree in Information Technology Cybersecurity Computer Science or related field or 4 years related experience with an AS/AA or 6 years related experience with a HS/GED.
  • 1 year of hands-on experience in a SOC or penetration testing environment.
  • Familiarity with SIEM platforms (e.g. Splunk) log analysis and incident response workflows
  • Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows Linux macOS) and network protocols (TCP/IP DNS HTTP etc.)
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail in identifying and assessing vulnerabilities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills including technical documentation
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced mission-driven environment
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a DHS suitability clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to federal cybersecurity frameworks (e.g. FISMA NIST CSF RMF)
  • Experience supporting DHS or other federal cybersecurity programs
  • Familiarity with Privileged Access Management (PAM) and Identity Access Management (IAM) platforms
  • CompTIA Security CEH or other entry-level cybersecurity certifications

Pay Range:

Pay Range $85150.00 - $153925.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job education experience knowledge skills and abilities as well as internal equity alignment with market data applicable bargaining agreement (if any) or other law.
