We are seeking Malay Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Malay spoken across Malaysia Brunei Singapore and parts of Indonesia is a strategic Southeast Asian language often needed for asylum immigration and refugee proceedings.

Responsibilities

Provide real-time Malay English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews hearings and official proceedings.
Interpret with accuracy impartiality and professionalism in immigration and legal contexts.
Maintain strict confidentiality in line with USCIS/DHS interpreter standards.
Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge interpretation requests.
Participate in training compliance refreshers and quality assurance reviews.

Qualifications

Native or near-native fluency in Malay and English.
2 years of professional interpreting experience (immigration community healthcare legal or government preferred).
Strong understanding of interpreter ethics confidentiality and cultural awareness.
Excellent telephone communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 federal clearance.
