Job Summary

Position Title: HR Generalist (Temporary As-Needed)

Reports to: Director of Human Resources

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Work Year: Temporary as-needed (hours will vary)

Location: Newton Public Schools Human Resources Department

Position Summary: Newton Public Schools is seeking a temporary Human Resources Generalist to provide support on a sporadic as-needed basis. The primary responsibility will be assisting with the districts applicant tracking system ensuring accurate and timely processing of candidate applications and related HR data.

This role provides flexible support to the HR team during periods of increased workload or project-based needs. Key Responsibilities * Assist with posting positions screening applications and tracking candidate status. * Generate and review systems to support recruitment and hiring processes. * Provide technical assistance to staff navigating the applicant tracking system. * Ensure accuracy confidentiality and compliance in all HR data management. * Support other HR functions as assigned by the Director of Human Resources. Qualifications * Experience working with applicant tracking systems * Strong attention to detail accuracy and confidentiality * Strong organizational and communication skills * Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word Excel) * Experience with TalentEd/Schoolspring applicant tracking platforms. * Prior experience in K12 school district human resources. * Knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations.

Schedule and Compensation: This is a temporary as-needed position. Hours will vary based on workload and project needs. Compensation will be hourly: up to $40 per hour commensurate with experience.
