Who Youll Work With

The Information Technology organization is the technological foundation of our business and works in collaboration with our partners from across the company. The team drives technology and digital transformation partners with business leaders to design and execute new strategies through IT and operations services and ensures the necessary IT risk management and security measures are in place and aligned with enterprise architecture standards and principles.

About The Role

This role will report to the Chief Physical Security Officer and is primarily responsible for building leading and managing the executive protection department with leadership responsibilities for a team consisting of proprietary and contracted protective services and risk management personnel. This role will act as the subject matter expert in all facets of close protection operations to analyze security risks and develop and implement the requirements policies and procedures for effective executive protection operations.

Responsibilities

  • Design implement manage and continuously improve an executive protection program to ensure the physical and digital safety and security of executive leadership and designated principals.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on all areas of executive protection and the logistics of an executive protection program to include risk assessments intelligence gathering advance work route planning emergency preparedness close protection threat management logistical planning and secure transportation.

  • Lead a team of proprietary and contract protective and risk management personnel and implement a continuous training and licensing lifecycle.

  • Be accountable for the operational effectiveness service delivery and management of all services programs activities and personnel within the executive protection department. Knowledgeable of all duties and tasks associated with executive protection operations.

  • Develop and implement executive protection policies and procedures risk matrices coverage schedules response protocols protective intelligence requirements and advance assessments. Ensure departmental activities are aligned with legal and regulatory requirements company policies best practices and industry standards.

  • Develop requirements for and implement a physical and digital executive risk threat and vulnerability assessment lifecycle. Identify and evaluate physical and digital vulnerabilities and implement effective controls to mitigate security risks.

  • Develop professional partnerships with and act in an advisory capacity to executive assistants events and sponsorship team information security travel operations business services facilities corporate security teams and critical executive support staff.

  • Maintain relationships with local state and federal law enforcement agencies security providers and crisis response vendors to ensure critical incident response support is planned for and implemented.

  • Stay updated on current events geopolitical risk emerging threats and security trends and best practices to inform critical decision making.

  • Manage vendors budgets key performance indicators services resources and logistical coordination related to executive protective operations.

  • Complete other duties as assigned by departmental leadership.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree and/or minimum 7 years of executive protection law enforcement or corporate security management experience in a progressive leadership role.

  • In-depth knowledge of all facets of a corporate executive protection program.

  • Strong law enforcement and crisis response networks in the New York City and Jersey City areas.

  • Prior completion of an accredited executive or dignitary protection training program that includes protective operations situational awareness and observation threat detection and mitigation de-escalation defensive operations crisis intervention defensive driving and tactical casualty care is preferred.

  • Willingness to work and travel during irregular hours weekends or on call to ensure mission accomplishment. Expect 30% domestic and international travel.

  • Strong knowledge of protective intelligence and on-going risk monitoring practices to drive executive protection operations.

  • Calm demeanor emotional intelligence executive level briefing and excellent communication skills. A high degree of physical fitness and professional appearance and demeanor is required.

  • CPR AED first aid tactical casualty care emergency response and industry certifications are preferred.

  • Strong leadership conflict management corporate and people skills preferably with a multi-national financial services or insurance organization with the ability to multitask and maintain professional composure under stressful circumstances.

  • A motor vehicle records check and non-disclosure agreement is required.

  • Current New York and New Jersey armed security license is a plus.

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is $145000 to $160000 for Jersey City NJ region at the commencement of employment. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered will ultimately be dependent on multiple factors which may include the candidates geographic location skills experience and other qualifications.

In addition the position is eligible for a discretionary bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.

Work Location

This position is based in Corebridge Financials Jersey City NJ office and is subject to our hybrid working policy which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.
