Job Summary

Our client a leading Manufacturing supplier in St. Catharine Ontario is currently looking for a full-time permanent Health and Safety Coordinator with solid experience in steel manufacturing sector.

Job: Health and Safety Coordinator

Pay: $35-40 Benefits.

Location: St. Catharine Ontario

Main Duties

Develop review update and implement health and safety policies and procedures including PPE safe operation of cranes and mobile equipment confined workspace fire safety asbestos lead and silica programs as well as environmental compliance
Escalate health safety and environmental issues to management
Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety and environmental legislation and liaison with outside consultants and regulatory bodies as required
Coordinate and conduct accident incident and near-miss investigations as required
Schedule and administer all employee health and safety training
Deliver health and safety on-boarding program to new employees

Knowledge Required

Post-secondary education in Environmental Science and/or Health and Safety.
Experience working in a heavy industrial environment
Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or working towards would be considered an asset
Must have good knowledge of the OHSA and related regulations
Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
Must be able and willing to deliver training in a group setting
