Job Description

Front of House (FOH) Lead Location: 515 Colorow Way Salt Lake City UT 84108

Hourly Pay: $20 per hour Full-Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:00 AM-2:30 PM

Job Summary

The Front of House (FOH) Lead is responsible for the daily operations and management of both cafés as well as supporting catering services. This role emphasizes exceptional customer service team leadership and the flexibility to assist wherever needed including light cooking and prep support.

What Youll Do

  • Deliver outstanding customer service and foster a welcoming environment.
  • Supervise FOH staff and report issues to the Director and/or Chef De Cuisine.
  • Handle guest complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure all opening and closing duties are completed and cleanliness is maintained.
  • Maintain inventory levels for FOH products including drinks coffee chips and snacks.
  • Support station cooks during busy times and assign tasks during slower periods.
  • Train and assist new employees to ensure smooth onboarding.
  • Assist with catering operations and grab-and-go services as needed.
  • Place weekly orders for Pepsi Coke coffee custodial supplies and chemicals.
  • Coordinate specialty bread and pastry orders with kitchen staff for catering.
  • Cover FOH stations and assist during prep and meal services.
  • Ensure FOH staff take lunch breaks and provide coverage when necessary.
  • Manage call-offs and shift coverage reporting illness and symptoms to the Food Service Director.
  • Complete weekly grab-and-go list and track waste.
  • Collaborate with Chefs and Food Service Director on FOH-related projects.

What You Will Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in hospitality management or food service preferred
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a café or restaurant setting
  • Proficiency in POS systems and cash handling
  • Proficiency in inventory control and cost management
  • Familiarity with local health codes
  • Thorough knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
  • Knowledge of café-specific operational standards (e.g. cleanliness food prep safety)
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong understanding of finances
  • Solid interpersonal skills
  • ServSafe Certification and State Food Handlers Card
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights (typically up to 25 lbs)

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Physical stamina to stand for long periods lift trays and perform repetitive tasks such as computer work paperwork and trayline operations such as standing up looking at trays or monitors for long periods. This may involve walking standing and occasionally navigating stairs or elevators. The employee is frequently exposed to the kitchen environment such as fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet & or humid conditions extreme cold extreme heat & vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
