Job Description
EAG Laboratories is seeking a Technician to join our Materials Characterization (MC) team located in Sunnyvale this position you will work closely with Ph.D. scientists on a daily basis and support the MC team by preparing samples for analyses. There is also the potential to learn instrument operation to aid in data acquisition.

This role is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR): all accepted applicants must be U.S. Persons as defined by ITAR: U.S. Person is a U.S. Citizen U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder) Political Asylee or Refugee.
Considering local candidates only - relocation assistance will not be available for this role.
Work Schedule: Mon to Fri 8.30am-5.30pm
Qualifications :
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Materials Science Chemistry Physics Engineering or related field.
- MUST have experience operating machinery such as drills bandsaw polishers or other basic machine shop tools.
- Experience with wet chemistry etching and/or mechanical polishing and cutting is preferred.
- Knowledgeable with optical microscopes is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills - understand detailed instructions and communicate effectively.
- Able to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Computer literate high level of accuracy and detail oriented.
- Able to handle multiple functions at the same time and maintain good organizational skills.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to continuously operate a personal computer or lab equipment for extended periods of time (4 or more hours).
- Ability to operate a keyboard and other lab equipment use a telephone access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels including overhead.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the role and work environment. This includes but is not limited to respirators safety glasses gloves hearing protection and protective clothing.
- Ability to communicate clearly and understandably ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance over the telephone and in a group setting.
- Require close distance visual acuity with or without correction (Glasses Contacts etc.)
- Learn new tasks remember processes maintain focus complete tasks independently make timely decisions in the context of a workflow ability to communicate with co-workers ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity expectation.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 60% of the time.
- Ability to move equipment or items up to 30 lbs.

Additional Information :
Compensation Range: $25.20 - $32.21/hr. (Pay rate will be commensurate with experience and degree of technical expertise.)
