The role
Clifford Chance is seeking a Head of Technology Learning & Development (L&D) to lead the Tech L&D Centre of Excellence (L&D CoE). and to develop and implement learning strategies manage training programs and track learning effectiveness. The candidate will be a critical player in developing technology related learning experiences which enlighten educate and inspire CC employees.
Who you will work with
As Head of Technology Learning & Development you will closely work with the Global Technology Services Director Regional Technology Directors and Managers Legal Tech Advisory as well as other stakeholders in the firm.
What you will be responsible for
As the Head of the L&D CoE you will be responsible for creating and implementing engaging technology-specific learning and training solutions to employees across the firm. Your aim will be to train upskill and create awareness of the range of core and value-adding IT products and services. You will be results orientated and will use data to help drive and analyze success metrics. You will possess a consultative and collaborative skillset and will be able to partner effectively with a wide range of senior leaders and subject matter experts to design and develop delivery mechanisms which drive adoption of our solutions.
What you will you do
- Develop and implement a global Technology L&D strategy aligned with the overall business strategy ensuring the workforces capabilities skills and competencies are met
- Create the strategy and continuously update the technology learning needs of the firm and employees by connecting it to organizational or business outcomes. Additionally support the careers of employees by fostering learning and engagement
- Lead the global technology L&D CoE including regional tech L&D teams ensuring cohesive and effective collaboration
- Collaborate with Regional Technology Managers and delegates from the Legal Tech team to understand each others priorities. Ensure a global approach by navigating the organisational matrix to achieve the goals of the Technology L&D Centre of Excellence (CoE)
- Encourage a culture of innovation within the team to continuously explore new L&D methodologies
- Regularly Benchmark against industry standards; stay informed about market trends and best practices by engaging with L&D influencers thought leaders and experts through various channels such as blogs podcasts books or social media
- Its a necessity to stay informed about the market to understand where competitors and other market players are heading that offer similar or complementary L&D programs to their employees.
- Evaluate service providers such as consultants trainers coaches or online platforms that offer L&D solutions to various organizations or individuals
- Provide guidance and coaching to Senior L&D Managers to ensure the Centre of Excellence (CoE) reviews and develops new content addressing the firms learning needs
- Collaborate with Lawyers productivity solution leads to ensure collaboration and delivery with tech L&D team
- Utilise reporting and analytics and collaborate with steering board comprising of Regional Senior L&D Managers to understand L&D requirements of the different stakeholders as well as to drive adoption of the IT portfolio including LegalTech and AI
- Implement and continually review a robust evaluation framework to assess effectiveness of learning programs and initiatives and use customer feedback to continuously improve the quality and impact of our L&D solutions
- Review and update the Tech L&D portfolio case studies or testimonials based on L&D results impact or value
- Utilise Project management tools and methodologies i.e. project plans creating project schedules and milestones and tracking progress
- Guide the team and enable them to reach their goals by removing barriers keeping stakeholders updated and always controlling for cost time and quality
- Foster a culture of trust and collaboration with the Technology L&D CoE through transparent communication and mutual respect
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimise tech L&D processes
- Use the findings from SWOT analysis or gap analysis to inform strategic L&D decisions and actions
Qualifications :
Your experience
- 20 years of experience out of which 3 -5 years experience at a law firm or global professional services firm with a background in learning and development
- Bachelors degree or equivalent required
- Must have a global mindset and perspective prior experience on global strategic initiatives a plus
- Knowledge of the full training cycle (assess needs plan develop coordinate monitor and evaluate)
- Knowledge of legal technology and legal operations to be preferred
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with tools and practices for project management
- Knowledge of adult learning principles instructional design and training delivery methods
- Ability to be flexible adaptable and solutions oriented
- Passion for learning improving and sharing best practices.
- Proactive team member with excellent attention to detail and follow through
- Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding environment
