Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diagnostic Mechanic to join our team at our truck dealership located in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting diagnostics repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty trucks of various brands. This role requires expertise in troubleshooting faults performing installations and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced diagnostic testing on heavy-duty trucks to identify mechanical electrical and electronic issues.
- Utilize diagnostic tools equipment and software to troubleshoot and diagnose complex problems.
- Analyze diagnostic data and interpret fault codes to determine the root cause of issues.
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicle systems including engines transmissions brakes and electrical systems.
- Repair and replace faulty components and systems ensuring proper functionality and performance.
- Perform software updates and calibrations as required to address vehicle issues.
- Document all diagnostic procedures findings and repairs accurately and comprehensively.
- Collaborate with other technicians and team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs.
- Provide guidance and support to junior technicians and apprentices as needed
Requirements:
- Computer Literacy is essential and Red Seal qualification Diagnostic Mechanic
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working with heavy-duty trucks after obtaining the qualification.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty vehicles.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment at all times.

Salary R40 000 monthly
