Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Workshop Manager to lead a team in Johannesburg . The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all workshop operations including recruitment of staff and training managing a team of mechanics and ensuring efficient and effective service delivery. This role requires strong leadership skills technical expertise and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of workshop operations including workshop planning resource allocation and workflow management.
- Manage a team of mechanics providing leadership guidance and support to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
- Lead recruitment efforts for new workshop staff including mechanics and apprentices and oversee their training and development.
- Coordinate with the parts department to ensure timely and accurate completion of work orders.
- Monitor and maintain workshop efficiency and productivity levels implementing process improvements as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards conducting regular safety inspections and training sessions.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to optimize equipment performance and longevity.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop strategies for workshop growth and improvement.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role as a Workshop Manager or Service Manager preferably in the heavy-duty truck industry.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Technical expertise in heavy-duty truck maintenance and repair processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with team members.
- Proficiency in workshop management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to safety protocols.
- Red Seal qualification or equivalent certification in heavy-duty truck mechanics or a related field is preferred.
