Program Summary
The Marine Corps Prepositioning (MCPP) Program is based on Blount Island in Jacksonville Florida WITH DUTY ASSIGNMENT ABOARD A SHIP IN GUAM SAIPAN OR DIEGO GARCIA. We provide maintenance and logistics services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and U.S. Navy. We are seeking a Shipboard Mechanic (Motor Transport).
Job Summary
Performs high level preventative maintenance and repairs to diesel engines and gasoline and diesel driven construction equipment such as tractors power shovels road machinery air compressors concrete mixers and other engine driven or towed construction equipment. Provides technical assistance guidance or training to lower-level mechanics and assists higher level mechanics. Perform other tasks as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent.
5 years of directly related work experience.
Complete the Basic Engineer Program Mechanics Course or equivalent.
Complete the Engineer Equipment Chief Course or equivalent.
Must maintain a valid passport.
Must have valid State Drivers License.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to comply with all established methods quality standards and time schedules applicable to this position.
U.S. Citizen.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and Base Access.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
